How to earn the $1,000
Dads at School grant
To be eligible to receive the $1,000 annual recurring Dads at School Grant, a school must:
-
Identify one point person and one support person. These can be parents, PTA leaders, school administrators, community members, etc.
-
Get school's principal sign-off. We can support you with this.
-
Liaison attends 4 out of 5 virtual DAS meetings
-
By second meeting in October, submit to Dads at School a 1-page proposal for your initiatives. Once DAS approves and your principal signs off, you are in on track to receive the grant.
Here are some examples of school dad initiatives to help brainstorm.
Remember, you design the dad initiatives that are best for your school! We will support you along the way, including answering questions and troubleshooting throughout the school year via phone, email and in the virtual group calls.
-
Share with DAS images of your efforts for social media and marketing.
-
Participate in a pre- and post- year survey.
-
Document father engagement and an earnest effort to achieve a 10% uptake.
For example, if you school has 500 students, you document that 50 male caregivers were engaged with the school through the year to be eligible.
We understand that not every school will meet this goal the first year. If you can document good-faith efforts you will still qualify for the grant.
